The Scholastic Book Fair has been full of challenges this year! We are appreciative of the patience, understanding, and cooperation from students and staff as we have navigated ongoing technical problems with Scholastic. This update will (hopefully) be the last so we wanted to share information that will help ensure a successful and enjoyable fair for the remainder of the week.

The network that we rely on to process transactions is provided by Scholastic and has been quite unstable thus far. This means that we are able to consistently process cash and check transactions, with e-wallet transactions also happening mostly reliably. Credit card transactions have been occurring on a much less reliable basis. This all means that we would kindly ask you to send your student in with cash or check (made out to GDMS PTO) if possible, and to use the e-wallet if not. As a reminder, e-wallets can be used on Scholastic's website beyond the dates of the fair, and we still receive the benefits (so long as you use the link provided and found on our website). 

We will hold Family Night on Thursday, September 17 starting at 6:15p and closing at 8p. Please feel free to come before Open House to get your books! We would kindly request that parents plan to bring cash or check (made out to GDMS PTO) for Family Night, and if that is not feasible, please plan to set up your e-wallet! Don't forget, we will be raffling off a prize for those that make a purchase at Family Night (4 tickets to UMass Lowell basketball)!
